Let’s Talk (#4)

“To say that obesity is caused by merely consuming too many calories is like saying that the only cause of the American Revolution was the Boston Tea Party.”

-Adelle Davis

Is this true or false?  In your opinion, to what extent does the processed food industry and poverty affect obesity rates?

The high cost and difficult accessibility definitely restrict the choice to eat healthy foods, as fast food and extremely processed foods are so much cheaper. Though exercise is a way to try and fight obesity, avoiding processed and “easy” frozen meals (which contain an abundance of sodium) has become very difficult in this food industry and led to poor health.
