Have You Read It Yet?

I have a book recommendation for you:  Eat This, Not That! (Supermarket Survival Guide), written by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding.  The book is very engaging, in part I think because of the detailed photographs, as well as the writing style, which is short, sweet, and to the point.  Basically, the book takes readers through each aisle of the supermarket, and maps out exactly what to put inside their grocery carts, and what to leave on the shelves.  Also, this book offers nutritional advice, and unearths secrets processed food companies wouldn’t want readers to know.  It’s quirky, but also entertaining and offers insight to make supermarket shopping easy.  Here’s a taste of the suggestions/advice the book offers (Goulding):

“The Perfect Spice Rack”

“The 20 Worst Packaged Foods in America”

“The Eat This, Not That! Fish Finder”

“Salad Bar Survival Guide”

“7 Life -Changing Cheeses”

***”Food Additive Glossary”***

The book also lists off processed foods, and their sugar, calorie, or saturated fat equivalents.  For example, did you know that the saturated fat equivalent of a Twix bar is 11 strips of bacon?  That the sugar equivalent of Healthy Choice Complete Selections Sweet & Sour Chicken is 2 scoops of Breyers Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup ice cream?  All this and more in Eat This, Not That! (Supermarket Survival Guide)! (Goulding).

I can’t wait to hear what you think of this book!

Until Next Week… Plan Well, Pack Well, Live Well,

Katie 🙂
